1 4 The Towers Of Hanoi: AARGH! It'sa puzzle game... Written byDominic (man of many talents) Morris. Basically, you have to move a pile of discs from onepeg to the other (Like on theCrystal Maze). I'm not too goodat these games, but I completedit in about 588 moves. By mystandard that was good. I wasthen told the minimum amounts ofmoves was, well, lets just say alot less! This is simple butGREAT fun. If you want a copy,Its on next issues tape.OVERALL: 90%.

1 3 A few notes on the above, Joyceenjoys Death Chase because shelikes knocking down trees, She loves dropping Fella in thewater (Murderer! Ed.), and NIGELMANSELL'S W.C sounds like somesort of public toilet!

1 1 MQM3: Another fun filled demofrom the MQM team. Yes, you'veguessed it, more smashing 128music. This time, the demofeatures 'Digisound' which wasno doubt created on thisinfamous 'SampleTracker' thingy.Anyway, I was very impressedwith this and it would be anideal program to show to a 16bitowner whilst saying "SPECTRUMSARE CRAP ARE THEY?". There isalso an option for 48 owners tohear the samples. OVERALL: 80%

1 / The best of the Pet Shop Boys: Iwas interested to see how thisone turned out, for those of youwho have viewed AMD2 from TOM, you'll know there was abrilliant QJETA conversion of'You were always on my mind'.So, in went the program and oncame the music. Now, it's notas good as QJETA's music, but atthe same time, all the tunes areof a fairly good standard. Someof the tracks sound a little bit'bitty', but fans of TPSB'swill like this

1 ( As you will have noticed, wehave a new layout this issue. This was very kindly created byour new team member: DominicMorris (Of Magican & Quarkfame). We know it looks a bit like Enigma, but like Dominicsaid to me, "How many ways canyou scroll text up and down ascreen?". Still, other featuresinclude a funky soundtrack andthe ability to change colours ofpaper and ink. Check out thekeys at the bottom of thescreen. The new format alsoallows us to include screen$between pages. I'm sure you'llall agree, it's a bigimprovement on Issue 1.

1 ' If we rate anything over 40%then its worth having. Anythingbelow 40 and above 30 is a bitdodgy, but anything below 30 isa total washout! If you want anyof these fine programs, dropme a line at the usual address.
1 ' Don't forget to write to DOMARKasking for the release of PRINCEOF PERSIA. We need as much software as we can possibly layour hands on.

1 " MQM4: No sooner had I finishedwith the above, I found thislittle gem. This is more of yeraverage soundtracker demo. Itfeatures 17 different tracks,Pop, Amiga and ST conversionsand also has a snippit ofsampled speech at the front end.The music is up to the usualstandard that we come to expectof QJETA, and the program has abrill loading screen. (Looksabit like my old mathsteacher!)So, another demo worthadding to your PD collection.OVERALL: 82%

1 wascomplaining about the use of'Stolen' or 'Ripped' music and graphics in PD programs. He wenton to say "I think it'sdisgraceful that people hackinto other peoples programs forthe sole purpose of stealingtheir ideas." Well, can I justsay, Although it's naughty topinch graphics etc from games, theres no real harm if theprogram isn't being re-sold andthe original Artist/Author iscredited. I mean come on, what'sthe difference between using ascreen than copying a game? Andno doubt we've ALL done that atsome point... Case Dismissed...

1 It's not really agood idea to copy or 'PIRATE'software. If your copying PDsoftware theres no problem butsoftware houses may get a little'heavy' when you start to pinchtheir programs. You have beenwarned!!!!
